We have the same wedding date!

we are receiving RSVPs now, and I have my dress fitting tomorrow after work. The big stuff is done, but i’m working on decor and bouquets now. I just placed a bulk order for feathers, so i can’t do much until they get here. We are using feathers instead of flowers due to severe allergies on FI’s side.

How are things coming along for you?

Hi date twins!

Big stuff is done – venue, dress, invites, marriage commissioner.  Hopefully going to hear soon from a seller at Etsy regarding flowers.  Need to figure out what the wedding party is going to wear (getting my sister to agree on a dress is like pulling teeth – “Whatever you want me to wear” is not an answer!  I want to get her something she’ll wear again and looks her age.  The man of honor (instead of maid) will probably wear something similar to the best man, so that’ll be easy enough).  I’m still worried that all of the RSVP cards will come back with ‘no’ ticked.  I’m dealing with some drama (friends refuse to come – wouldn’t even let me invite them) and my Future Mother-In-Law gave me a list of people I had to invite (people I’d never met – at least I don’t remember – and people my Fiance wouldn’t have invited if given the choice).  But all in all, after reading some of the horror stories from some other people, I’m thinking I don’t have a whole lot to complain about.

The only thing that makes me sad about my wedding date is that my favorite comedian of all time is doing a show the same night as my wedding.  If I’d known, I might not have picked this date, haha (not really, but he really is my favorite!)

whew! I got engaged on May 11th, was in to try dresses on May 14th and purchased on the 22nd! I always dreamed of a Vera Wang dress and with a 5 month engagement had no time to waste! But it obviously leaves little time for alterations…..

Hello October 5er’s! It’s going to be a great day πŸ™‚

In the past week I have actually accomplished a lot of things: We’ve had a sit-down meeting with the DJ to go over our music preferences, the day’s timeline, do’s and dont’s, etc.; I have ordered the personalized embrodered handkerchiefs for my parents, Future Mother-In-Law and my grandpa; I finally picked a florist to make my bouquet and paid them in full.

We’re starting to receive our RSVP’s back **happy dance**

It’s just down to the details now!

  • Work on the ceremony with our officiant.  I have my vows written already though πŸ™‚
  • Finish assembling centerpieces.  They are half way done… I just need to be in a girly, crafty mood to do them, which has not overcome me yet.
  • My dress fitting appointment is next Saturday August 3rd!
  • I need to order our cake stand, card box and cake server/knife off of Etsy
  • Need to manipulatenag remind Fiance to make the directional signs out of pallets. “Keep Going” and “Almost There” etc.
  • Nail down the details of the food menu with our chef (see my food thread! I’m fishing for suggestions!)
  • The chalkboard sign for the menu
  • Gather the supplies for my Starbucks coffee bar (all the syrups, etc.)
  • Finalize the must-have photo list
  • Gather all the games, etc. that we’ll be providing.
  • Work on the letters to Fiance, my parents, and other people that I <3
  • Figure out Fiance gift
  • Guest welcome bags to leave in their rooms

I’m sure there’s lots more that I’m missing, but that’s what is on my mind now.

It truly is going to be the BEST month of my life… my mom and step-dad are coming out a week early on Friday the 27th to visit and help with the final details (my family lives on the West Coast). Then the rest of my family all comes in on the same flight the night of October 3rd, so that will be one epic airport pickup!  Then our wedding weekend of course. Then on the 7th we fly out for our honeymoon in Riviera Maya for 7 nights πŸ™‚  Then when we come back, bring on all the fall festivities and Halloween madness that this part of the country is all about!

@leenh78:  OMG!! I hadn’t even thought of that! Thanks so much! I just sent an email to the bridal consultant. Somehow I got the impression that they do it in-house, but it’s best to verify to be sure!!!!!! THANKS!
