So psyched! I’ve been running 3-4 days a week for the summer, and now that fall is approaching, it’s marathon training! After a disasterous first marathon attempt a couple years back (running 26 miles one year after child birth equals stopping at EVERY portapotty), I’m ready to take on the challenge again. The St. Petersburg Rock ‘n Roll marathon is on my 29th birthday in February. I’ve got 25 weeks to get in marathon shape, starting Monday!
Plus, I’m down 10 lbs with my Engine 2 Diet/lifestyle, and I’m feeling great. The aches and pains that have plagued me for years have been MIA for weeks, cholesterol is down, and I’m in much better shape to start training than I was last time.
Considering I’m moving in two weeks, I’ve got massive amounts of work/travel ahead, and my son starts school for the first time next week, I think I’ll be cherishing my runs more than ever!

Good luck to both of you! I want to run a half next year but have to wait to start training until it’s not so stinking hot outside.

@Tmpalm: Definitely! When is race day for you?
@MrsSaltWaterTaffy: Believe me, it’s treadmill time of year 🙁 If I can get up early enough, it’s not so bad, but after 9am, no thanks!

Congratulations! I’m running my first full marathon on 11/19. So nervous!
I’ve run a bunch of halves at a decent clip, but the full seems just so much more intimidating. I’m trying to lose 10 more pounds this training cycle- I’m hoping it happens. I’ve been running a lot, but the diet is the problem for me. I’m going to cleanse for the next two weeks before my wedding lol.

@jouissance: I’ve had GREAT success with upping the fruit/veg/whole grains. I went completely vegan, but you would probably have major results by cutting down on the dairy/meat/oil/processed foods. I eat as much as I want all day long and have been losing about a pound or two per week since I started two months ago. Speaking of, it’s lunch time! 🙂
