There’s no question it was the best day of my life. Wow. I loved planning every minute of it… so much that I’m trying to be an event planner now! Our theme was 60% modern, 40% whimsical, and we went with VERY bright warm tones as the color palette. (Many said it was the most colorful wedding they’ve ever been to!) It was held in a contemporary scultpure museum – the ceremony was outside, the cocktail hour inside, and the reception in an enclosed, clear-top tent outside.
It really took our breath away. I couldn’t believe how happy I was during that half hour ceremony. And afterwards!!! Can you imagine seeing all your favorite people in the whole world right after you vow to spend the rest of your life with the most amazing person… and then there’s a huge, beautiful celebration you’ve been working so hard on… that comes together flawlessly!!! WOW. What a trip. I’m so, so happy I’m married to my one and only now! We still cry when we pull up our (unconventional) aisle music on youtube.
His amazing custom black-on-black jacquard pattern suspenders and bowtie
Custom robes! They are AWESOME! https://www.etsy.com/shop/SingingSlowly
My WHOLE dress was embellished!
Approaching my soon-to-be-hubby for the first look!
He was pretty darn blown away. I don’t normally dress up this much… 🙂
“inspecting the goods” as he likes to put it! HA!
In front of one of the art installations that I’ll eventually walk through in the beginning of the ceremony!
He’s such a cuddly one!
Well this art installation was quite well suited to a wedding! It was really gorgeous up close, too.
Just had to include a goofy one! And look at the colors… they were really something!
Each bouquet matched each bridesmaid’s dress, and mine included all of the colors! My florist really did a great job given the swatches I provided!!
Peak foliage, ooh la la!
The ornaments decoration our Chuppah, a Jewish wedding canopy.
Our custom Ketubah (a jewish marriage contract) with floating frame and cutouts! You can see right through the roses on the bottom. This is also the NYC skyline (where we live now, and will most likely continue to live!), our initials carved into the tree, and our hidden college logo (where we met)
WE’RE MARRIED!!! Can you tell how happy we are?!
Escort cards I designed and lasercut to match our wedding logo! (Logo was projected onto dance floor, walls, serving trays, and invitation)
THE TENT! My baby! All my hard word paid off to make this beautiful scene! (And thanks to our amaaazing caterer/planner/everything-er!)
I illustrated and put together these really fun activity books! So cheap (in terms of materials) and they really made an impact on the guests! With customized pens!!]
Look at that spot lighting!
Our ridiculous (poorly choreographed) first dance! We made fools of ourselves, but it was so much fun!!
It started classy (Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You) then turned crazy (I Believe In A Thing Called Love) and then even CRAZIER (Gangnam Style)!
Yep, high fiving the audience during Gangnam.
The first dance
What a boss! Gangnam craziness.
SO scared when they lifted me in a chair! Well, I did actually fall off… At least I landed on my feet!
The cake! And what a flavor! I requested a special flavor – “snickerdoodle” – so mostly cinnamon, with a buttery undertone, and a hint of other fall spices. WOW!
The tent lit up with all its glory! The trees are uplit in wedding colors, too. And our amazing everything-ers surprised us with our wedding logo projected on the ivy!!!
It really was the perfect night, suitable for the perfect husband.
