Ok…so I have panicked a little, but not nearly as much and I thought I would. I have spent the last two years planning the SECOND biggest event of my life (the first being the birth of my son 15 years ago). I am a 37 year old divorced mother who is about to embark on her second marriage. This one being to best guy in the world, my 44 year old today (HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEETIE) never been married and doest not have any childred of his own fiance.
With this being my second marriage, you would think that it would all be “old hat”, however this is so NOT the case. My first wedding was at the court house on the Island of Oahu in Hawaii, and at the ancient age of 19 it was a no muss or fuss affair. Now roughly 20 years later, I am going all out on my second wedding…all without the assistance of (dare I say it???) a wedding planner! I am strictly a DIY bride this go around, because if I’m going to take the plunge again, I have definite ideas about the swarvski crystal detailed, garden rose quilted, moet champagned filled glass is always half FULL pool that I’m going to dive into….and it all started at “The Dominion House”!

We’re date twins 🙂
I haven’t panicked yet… well, not really. I’ve had a few moments that I needed to take an extra breath though. I feel like I hear all these horror stories about venues or florists, etc. but none of that has happened to me (knock on wood). We’re not stressing ourselves out with a theme or any of that… all we care about is that we’re marrying each other and that our guests are fat, happy and dancing.
I’m just hoping for beautiful weather!! 🙂

Hey hey! I’m a 6.1.12 bride…weekend twins!
I have 105 days…I feel a little panicked. I’ve been pretty calm so far…just need to seriously start deciding what I want to do for the little things, you know?

@Mrs.GtoBe: I can totally relate to having to take an extra breath. I have been truly fortunate not to have any “horror stories”, but it does seem as though every time something doesn’t work out, the alternative ends up being way better than I ever dreamed! I so agree with having guests that are fat, happy and dancing…that is our ultimate goal also. I’m a little iffy on the weather though. As anyone in Oklahoma can tell you, our weaher is very unpredictable. It can be snowing one day, and literally the very next day we will have a high of 78 degrees. All I can do is keep my fingers crossed.

@soyjoy222: The little things are definitely an issue for me also. I have the invitations, venue, food, photographer, dj and wedding attire. So everyone in my family thinks that I’m “set”. But they have no idea how stressful it is having to find frames for table numbers, or the perfect paper for programs or the other 1001 other “little” things that make a wedding yours, and not some thrown together hot mess!
