Bees, i just signed up for a 1/2 marathon on May 15th!!
My training started last week and its hard, but i’m super excited! Last time i trained for one i had to drop out two weeks prior to the race because of an injury. This time i’m taking it slow and doing lots of strength training along with running. I’m also turning 30 on May 27th and one of my 30-by-30 goals is to finish a 1/2.
Anyone else taking on this particular challenge for the first time? words of support? encouragement?

It’s not my first but I’m running a half marathon in April! Good luck with everything, try to do some cross-training in place of running if you’re worried about an injury…
I only run three-four times a week and the other two-three days I do either elliptical, bike, swim, stairmaster, etc…This is a good way to cut back on the high impact that running has on your body!

I’m running my 6th in April. Just stick to the training, listen to your body and you’ll do great!

Oh wow – im so jealous! Im doing a 10km on 15th May! Which is like a marathon for me, because I am training to run the whole way and be finished in 1 hour!!

My fifth one is next weekend. I def. don’t train much. But my head says “go run”, and my legs say “OK”. I do not recommend this approach to others!

@Miss Sydney: If you’re doing the 10K on the 15th, you should definitely do the city 2 surf in August! Its just an extra 4km and it is the best fun ever! Have you participated before?
