UPDATE FROM OP: (long saga sorry). Not sure if this has anything to do with the early line progression but my story went as follows:
June 28: positive FRER
I had intense cramping on the left side of my abdomen on and off but thought it was uterus growing pains etc. My test got darker by 17 DPO (July 4) so I didn’t worry as much.
July 10: started having some spotting.
July 11: had fresh red blood at work (just a tiny bit but got worried). I had a dream that night that I miscarried 🙁
July 12: Hcg and ultrasound (5.5 weeks) came up 131 HCG and uterus was empty, thick lining. Miscarried that night (or so I thought). Intense cramping and felt/saw something sac-like come out. I had a traumatic time at the ultrasound but that story is for another time.
July 14: hcg and ultrasound again (lining thinned and uterus empty) HCG down to 98 so we thought we were done and would check in 2 weeks to make sure it was 0.
July 26: I had horrible pains in my stomach while driving – was sobbing on the way home and had to pull over.
July 27: ultrasound had a small cyst on the right ovary (my pregnancy was from the left) doc thought I would get my period soon. Had some spotting but no period. HCG turned out to jump up to 167.
Definitely not a normal or viable pregnancy.
July 31: I had 2 shots (1 dose) of methotrexate (chemo drug) due to the suspected ectopic pregnancy (never seen on ultrasound due to low overall numbers). HCG was 160 that day.
Day 4 and day 7 numbers came to 50 and 13 respectively.
This has been going for almost a month and been a crazy rollercoaster but I am really glad we didn’t have sex the whole pregnancy bc of the risk of rupturing my fallopian tube. I took some time off work and follwed a strict low folate diet to have the methotrexate work.
Again, maybe my line progression had nothing to do with this but I am sharing to let others know in case. Also, I knew my body was not normal even after the “miscarriage” listen to your body even though the doctors tell you the chances of anything being wrong are low. It was not period cramps. It was ectopic cramps. I was so sad to have to take an affirmative step to end the pregnancy I already thought was over but the relief was that either I could take an action to save my tube/me or do nothing and endanger it, but the pregnancy was not save-able anyways 🙁
It’s not 100% done yet but I don’t know that there are a lot of stories like mine on here so sharing in case.
