Mine engagement ring band is very thin, but feels sturdy. I ordered the matching pave wedding band, too.
I don’t think you’ll have problems. Maybe just take it off for cleaning and yardwork, as someone mentioned. I think the pros outweigh the (minimal) cons.

I really wanted a super thin band (thinking 1.5 mm), but I wanted pave and most rings I saw started at 2 mm. I did some research and a lot of jewelers won’t do pave in less than 2 mm. I don’t have my ring yet but I ended up finding a shared prong band for 1.6 mm that i LOVE. I did look at one that was even thinner, I think it was 1.3 mm and it felt too delicate for me. Plus, the diamonds were smaller and i wanted something that stood out more. But it really depends on your personal preference. Just make sure you try it on before you purchase and you should be ok! As long as your ring has a good warranty, I wouldn’t worry.

@Peaceoutboyscout: Here you go.
Here is the whole set. In looking at the specs, the ering is apparently 1.5 and the wedding band is 1.6. I thought it was 1.25, but it is apparently a little thicker. I also uploaded the profile so you could see what a plain band would look like in that size.

Thank you so much for the responses! I’m feeling a lot more confident about pulling the trigger on this ring!!

@peonyinlove: what’s your ring size if you don’t mind my asking?
My engagement ring and band are both 1 mm wide (maybe slightly over, but my ruler doesn’t measure any narrower than mm).
Anyway, I’m super rough on my hands (ie, I’ve caught the underside of my ring on stuff several times) and it’s fine. I love it – the narrow band it really makes the center stone pop and it’s very delicate and feminine looking. I get a lot of compliments.

@Peaceoutboyscout: the ring is 5.5 but I think my finger is a little less, 5.25 maybe?

(I still can’t figure out how to measure thickness…maybe I’m just bad in math?)

I have a 1.5mm eternity band and it’s very strong. I also have a 1.2 mm rose gold band that is quite tall, so strong as well.
How “tall” do you think this is? I know it’s a bad angle, but I’m sooo terrified that It will be too flimsy. BUT I WANT IT SO BADDDDDDDDDD.
It looks like it is tapered at the bottom.
Here’s the top view. Swoooon. I’ll be getting mine with a blue topaz stone though, not aquamarine. It’s from LOGR. Anyone have any experience with their craftmanship??

@Peaceoutboyscout: Mine is 2 mm and I was surprised by how thin it was. I am glad I did not go less than that. Here is a pic for reference.

I don’t, and I wouldn’t, I wanted my engagement ring (and future wedding band/s) to have a bit of “substance” to them, I’d warp something so thin in about a year I’m sure and I didn’t want to spend the $ on something I was constantly afraid of breaking or changing shape.

@priyawouldntwannabeya: Would you share where your setting is from?
Your ring is so lovely!
