(Closed) 14K white gold engagement ring causing skin discoloration. Help!

My skin does that as well. Gold is alloyed with other metals, like copper, that oxidize on some people’s skin and make it look grey/green. I had mine plated with rhodium which is considered inert and the problem was solved. You can also have it plated with platinum.

My skin does this with yellow and rose gold. It’s a pretty common issue.  It seems exacerbated when I wear lotion.

Mine does it too, but only right before that time of the month. It really worried me the first time it happened. I looked it up and precious metals can cause reactions in the akin, just like base metals can.
