I’ve had my ring for 4 months now. I usually don’t wear rings or jewelry. The only other jewelry I wear on a daily basis are 14K yellow gold diamond studs, and I haven’t had any discoloration with that. I avoid cleaning, cooking, or exercising with my ring. Has anyone experienced this issue with white gold rings (or any precious metals)?

My skin does that as well. Gold is alloyed with other metals, like copper, that oxidize on some people’s skin and make it look grey/green. I had mine plated with rhodium which is considered inert and the problem was solved. You can also have it plated with platinum.

My ring is already plated with rhodium. It’s a shame that it wore off after only 4 months then.

My skin does this with yellow and rose gold. It’s a pretty common issue. It seems exacerbated when I wear lotion.

Mine does it too, but only right before that time of the month. It really worried me the first time it happened. I looked it up and precious metals can cause reactions in the akin, just like base metals can.
