Our anniversary is coming up and Darling Husband is demanding gift ideas. I have no idea what to ask for. It needs to be $150 or under and needs to be special because it’s our 1st year…but I don’t know what to ask for! I really want a rose gold anniversary band, but all of the ones in store are out of our price range, and I’m too nervous to buy over Etsy..I’m scared it won’t be perfect and then I’ll be stuck with a ring I won’t really wear. I was thinking maybe Ray Ban sunglasses?!
My question is, what would you ask for?! And a gift card or to use the money on bills doesn’t count. It needs to be an actual gift! I need ideas. He’s getting cranky. Hahahaha

My husband got me rose gold studs for our first anniversary. Other things I would like are: tickets to a show or concert, a piece of art, a nice bible, maybe a Christmas ornament.

1st Anniversary is paper so tickets to a concert are a great idea.

Sunglasses definitely come to mind. I love designer shades. I’ve also been wanting a great statement necklace. A massage would also be great!

A lot of Etsy stores have good return policies. I bet you could find something you love from a shop that lets you return it if it’s not perfect.

Kind of random, but I really want a clarisonic! lol
I think I might like something more sentimental & lasting, like jewelry, though. I would totally ask for an etsy ring…as another PP mentioned, many have great return policies. Just read the seller’s reviews!

I know you said you were nervous about Etsy, but I’ve seen so much beautiful jewelry on there. Maybe find some other piece of jewelry you know you would wear, regardless of perfection?
There’s plenty of cute stuff (my fav seller is Karen Yost of Anomaly Jewelry: http://www.etsy.com/shop/AnomalyJewelry Her stuff is not for everyone, but SO CUTE, and very well made. She often has discounts on her Facebook page, too.) I have her Standing Fawn necklace:
Otherwise, I vote for an experience – like babymakes3 suggested. Maybe a concert? Or a day out at an awesome museum if you have one within comfortable driving distance?

@beachbride1216: i second the tickets for paper idea!

I’d keep looking for a rose gold band in your price range, sunglasses just don’t seem very special. Darling Husband bought me some rose gold charms from helen ficalora but I think one runs $125…
I like the ticket idea as well, I bought Darling Husband tickets to see Bruce Springstein (this Friday!)

This is the rose gold ring I like –
ETA: This would be a custom listing and her shop policies say no returns on custom items. So I wouldn’t be able to return it if it didn’t work out. I need 18k for the ring to match my set.
I was planning on sandwiching it between my engagement ring and wedding band, but what if it doesn’t look right? I’d hate to go through the hassle of having to ship something back with insurance. Also this ring has rounded edges..I’m not sure if that’ll look right with my set? I’m not into matching (obviously) but I also dont want it to look horrible.

I would say a necklace. I would save the band for the 5 year.

@s.renea9: I have several necklaces from him already..but I do agree about the ring. I think I’d rather wait til 5 years when we can do it big and get one with pave diamonds.

What I’m really dying for is a Louis Vuitton Speedy bag. From the look on his face…I’m guessing that’s a no! o.O hahaha

I’d probably ask for a diamond or gemstone pendant necklace. Or, I’d ask him to go to the outlets and get me a new Coach purse.

For $150 I would ask for artwork. I think it’s something that can last a lifetime and it could technically qualify as a “paper” gift? We were really adamant about sticking to the paper gift theme.
