I think they sounds perfect! And it’s not like the guests are going to pull out the invitations and be like “The decor is red and the invitations are purple – ghastly!”

@smithk3:  OMG!  I used those!!! Brian is freaking awesome.  Do it do it do it!!!!!  We used the red white and black ones even though our colors were purple and mocha.  People absolutely raved about our invitations!

Those are cute but I don’t think they go with “Great Gatsby” (which I envision as being more elegant) and speakeasy. I don’t think it matters about the colors at all, but the invitations you posted would make me expect a carnival type theme.

Art Deco style invitations might complement the vibe I’m imagining you’re going for. Something like this:
