Help! I am hoping to see the difference between 1 and 2 cts on a 4.25 or 4.5 finger. Any stone that measures 6.5mm or 8mm will do. I want a noticeable stone but don’t want it to look gaudy or appear fake because of its size. Any pics out there? And for those with either, what kind of comments, etc do you get? I don’t want to always have people asking me if it’s real or not, but I do love a sizeable stone!

This may or may not help. This is a 1 ct round brilliant with a halo. I am a size 5. I have had only good comments. In the end wear what you love. I love the bling. 😉

I have a 4.50 size finger. When u say stone…I am not sure as to what you are refering to—I have a 3.5 carat diamond center stone…when people see it in person they stop in awwwe of it. No one ever asked if it was “real” or not. I’m gonna assume your definition of “real” is a diamond. And that has nothing to do with size. Alot of bees sport smaller rocks that are moissy or sapphire. Most women have a trained eye and can spot the difference between the different stones. depending on what stone you like you should get in a size you are happy with and proud to show off. While most will think my Engagement Ring is too big or gaudy It makes me proud, and I have seen countless gorgeous E-rings on the bee in all kinds of stones and these women rock them.

There are also a lot of steps between 1 and 2! Have you considered a 1.5?

I don’t have this ring anymore but its a 1.2 carat round brilliant diamond solitaire… my ring size is a 3.5

I have a size 6 finger and thought the 2 carat rocks I tried on looked gaudy/costume-y. I think a 1 or 1.5 will still look big on your finger with out venturing into costume/flashy/trying too hard territory.

dancingdoll4: just a note. With my bands this is 2.1 ct on my finger. Just to give you an idea. 🙂

I h ave a 1.3 carat ring on a roughly size 5.5 finger. My fingers shrink down to a 5 when I am cold or in the winter…LOL. I really think it is the perfect size. I would not want it any bigger.

MrsBuesleBee: I don’t think that size of a rock comes near gaudy or costumy. I don’t get why some bees say anything over a carat is gaudy—I think this is a double standard, because if I say that a rock that is less than a carat is a pebble and that their Fiance doesn’t love them enough, most bees on here would flip their shit.
