I am looking into purchasing a moissanite ring and I am torn between what size stone to go with. I wear a size 8 ring and im not sure if a 2ct. moissy will look too big on me. I would love to see photos of your moissys on your hand if you could share. Thanks!

I wear a size 6, and have a 3ct moissanite. It certainly looks large, but not over the top, in my opinion.
If I were you, I would totally go for the 2ct. It won’t look gaudy at all on a size 8.

A great way to see what size looks best on your own finger is to go into jewelry stores and try on rings with any kind of gemstone in different carat sizes. You can even go and just try on CZ rings to get an idea of what it would look like. Also you can go online and print out a carat size chart. cut out the sizes you are thinking about and tape them onto your finger. Sounds silly I know, but it works!
P.S. pictures always make stones look bigger than life. My 1 carat looks just right on my size 5 finger, but in pictures it looks a lot bigger for some reason.
This is my ring:

I think the larger the stone the more likely it is to attract comment.
A lot of people are not aware of moissanite and may find it incongruous that you have such a large stone. For the avoidance of that sort of comment, I would pick the smaller one. My own personal preference leans towards more discreet/less flashy styles so you may want to take my comment with a pinch of salt.
I am sure either will look beautiful though and you’ll never know until you try some on!

Ooh one more image I found –
The rings are on a size 6 finger and from left to right are 1.02ct, 1.21ct, 1.51ct, and 2.01ct.

Why not a 1.5ct?
I agree with a PP that a 2ct moissy might attract some unwanted comments.

I vote 1 only because after looking at the 4 comparisons the bee posted, the 2 looks too gaudy for my taste.

@nanikoa: Yep, my stone is offically a 9mm Old European Cut Amora Moissanite.
I just went over the my FI’s best friend’s house and his wife said that my ring is large, but not over-the-top in her opinion, and now she is thinking about upgrading her .5ct diamond to a 2ct moissanit and she has a size 7 finger. Thought you might be interested in the perspective of somebody who has seen my ring in person.

@nanikoa: a high quality very sparkly diamond in 2 ct size would cost about $20,000 or more. Thus if youre hoping it will pass as a diamond, realize that people will probably suspect its a sim. Although theyre unlikely to say anything.
If you are someone who likes bling n is planning on being upfront that its a moissanite, then go big or go home. Maybe even a 3 carat! Every one knows something that huge is unlikely to be a diamond as few people have $35k on tjeir finger. Moissanites are beautiful sims and so cheap compared to diamonds, you can afford to go big!
best wishes. sorry for typos, am on my phone
