This obviously isn’t a picture of the set on me, but it is the exact same set that I got…and I super love it 🙂

I worked at a jewelry store, and I have NEVER heard of any stores displaying CZ in their rings. A reputable jeweler will NOT have a CZ set in setting which they are selling as diamonds. At the store I worked at, all the stones were authentic diamonds and there was not a single man-made diamond in the store. Also, a quality real diamond will always sparkle mor than a CZ.

Yes, @ella86, that is exactly what I meant. If a jewelry store carried real diamonds in every setting they had on display, they would most likely have millions of dollars worth of inventory sitting on the floor, which would not be ideal. I would say 99% will either have settings with no center stones, or they have CZ’s set just so you can get an idea of what they look like with a stone in them. They should be more than willing to pop out the CZ and put in a diamond to show you a true look.

Again, I have never heard of any stores putting CZ in their settings out on the floor. Every jewelry store I know of takes all of the inventory out of the cases every single night and locks it up in the safe. They do that because they do have millions of dollars of inventory in the store on display. Any reputable jewelry store would NOT think of displaying a CZ in a setting they were trying to sell, even for display purposes. They would dispaly the setting with a real diamond or with no stone at all.

I worked in a mall jewelry store, and I know for a fact that every other jewelry store in the mall was putting their diamonds in the safe every night. The jewelry store employees were always the last to leave the mall, because it took us an hour or more to put pack up the jewelry and secure it in the safe.

The store manager where I worked bought a custom setting for his fiancee and let me tell you…we picked on him mercilessly because he actually had them set a CZ in the setting until he could find the perfect three-carat diamond for it.

I know for a fact that our higher end stores where I got my ring and many other stores in our area put CZ’s in there rings. They all told me that and then if you buy the ring they order in you multiple diamonds to pick from to place in that setting. Some of there  lower end rings had real diamonds but like when i got my tacori ring all of the rings had a CZ in them and we ordered my diamond in.

It’s really comes down to personal preference. Personally, I prefer the round brilliant cut. It’s just so classic and timeless.

I have a round solitaire. Before we went shopping, I thought I wanted a cushion, but in the end, I loved the round on my finger.

Wen we went shopping for wedding bands on Jewelers’ Row in Chicago, some of the wedding bands were set in CZ and some were set in diamonds. Most of the engagement rings were empty so that you can pick out the diamond size you want and visualize how it would look in the empty setting. When we went to Harry Winston, Cartier, and Van Cleef & Arpels those were all real diamonds.
