I am getting married on St. Simon’s Island inside Lovely Lane Chapel this June. Most my guests will be from the Island and some will be from out of town. My ceremony is at 1pm and the reception will start at 5pm. Is this too long of a gap? I can not change the ceremony time. We will be right on the beach and around a lot of attractions. Do you have any suggestions? Thank-you!

I don’t mind gaps at weddings – my friends and I just go to a pub and hang out with each other. Maybe you could provide a list of local places as part of your program/handout at the ceremony?

Personally, I do mind gaps that large at weddings.

Well, it depends on how formal it is… I was at a Destination Wedding where the wedding was at noon, we went and swam in the pool and had a few drinks (including the bride!), and dinner was at like 6 pm. But she was a VERY laid back bride and if wasnt a true” reception with a DJ and all that shebang!

That’s my timeline as well! But our venue is in the art district of my city, so I’m going to give them some suggestions on what to do … I can’t change the timing of mine either 🙂
