Did you exchange gifts for your anniversary?
If your not married yet… do you plan to exchange gifts?
What did you get/give or what do you plan to?
Our anniversary is Sunday and I didn’t get my husband anything because I thought our week at the beach was like ‘our gift’ to each other. We have the top of our cake and a bottle of champagne that was a gift from my uncle at the wedding were planning to dive into Sunday and I figured that would be it. Last night he asked if I still wanted ranunculus flowers for our anniversary and now I have no idea what to get him o.O He just bought me $200 worth of the MH dolls I collect too in the past 2 days. I feel really bad about all the 1 sided gifting going on and I need to get him something for our anniversary but I have NO IDEA what. Any ideas would be helpful.
I can’t take him out to eat or anything like that because he has Guard this weekend and won’t be home until late Sunday and he has to get up early for work Monday. =/

I am still undecided. Our anniversary is in a few weeks, and I know he is taking me out. We are getting a new puppy this weekend, so I am kind of rolling my birthday and anniversary into this weekend because he is taking me to Cheesecake Factor and on a 12 hour drive to get this puppy (which costs quite a bit becuase it is a Saint Bernard).
I may get him fishing stuff because he loves fishing (maybe some new lures, bobbers, and pole). Maybe get your husband something that you know interests him? Or if he drinks a certain “beverage” you could buy a bunch of those little bottles and make a liquor bouquet.
I am terrible with gift ideas becuase I end up just getting my husband something he really wants and has mentioned in passing more than twice.

I pan on getting my husband a autographed picture the hosts of his favorite British car show “Top Gear.” Found it on ebay from the UK and plan on buying it at the begining of next month. Also for his birthday last year I framed up so pictures of his cars for our apartment. Since then he bought a new car and I plan on framing two pictures of it to add to the collection we have on our wall. If you can’t tell my hubby is a car guy. 🙂

If you go by the list of traditional anniversary gifts by year, the first year of marriage is “paper.” My Darling Husband got me tickets tickets to a play at our local arts centre, and I got him tickets to a concert 🙂

I made something like this:
For the Modern 1st year gift = Clock.
So I bought him a new watch.

Thanks for all the ideas ladies! I ended up finally finding him a gift today and just in time because it’s arrival date is Saturday lol. I just got him Keen sandals for water and hiking and such since were planning to spend most of the summer at the pool, Hersheypark, Knoebels Grove and hiking trips in Ricketts Glenn. Pretty much a whole lot of walking and water related things, perfect right? I thought it would be practical they were about $100 so not too much and not too cheap and he kept looking at them at the mall. He is trying so hard to figure it out but he can’t hahahaha.

@HappilyEverAfter54: First of all…happy anniversary! Can’t believe the time has gone by this quickly! You have a great idea with the shoes :-). Your Darling Husband will love them!
I ended up searching through board posts last night and finally settled on DH’s gift. I got him a new return address stamp. We’re moving next week and he loves those things. I also got him a digital picture frame. He has been talking about one forever, and Amazon had a really good price on one. I think he’ll really like it!
Enjoy celebrating! 🙂

Our first anniversary just passed! Darling Husband took me for a weekend getaway to a resort that’s a 2 hour drive away. And we are not buying each other gifts because we are buying our first home (closing is next week!). In general, we gift each other vacations a lot 🙂

@keepsmiling19: I want a digital picture frame so bad, every time I see ones in a size I like they cost a ton of money so I have been waiting for them to go on sale lol.
@MaVer610: we just moved too! A few weeks ago actually! I thought our week at the beach was our gift too, we vacation instead of give gifts most of the time as well. I had so much fun I definitely wouldn’t have needed anything else.

Our one year anniversary is in two months. We don’t normally do gifts – but we do TRIPS! We are going to the Tetons (where we were going to get married) and our plan is to climb a peak. H has done all the major peaks, I just want to do one that’s my speed.

@sienna76: that sounds so cool! I wish I could do that, I get tired so fast =( this fall were going hiking up a waterfall so I’m a little nervous but super excited!

@HappilyEverAfter54: Hike up a waterfall? Or like to the top of a waterfall? Where is this one?
H claims I can do the actual Grand Teton itself which is a 5.4 climbing route at most (I can do up to 5.8 in climbing). It’s just the 7,000 vertical foot approach that is the long part. I’ve been trail running and mountain biking to get in shape for it! Trust me – I am tired a LOT!

Like hike beside it. It’s somewhere in south central PA I always forget the name of it. We’ll also be hiking along side a series of waterfalls in Ricketts Glenn PA later this year. These hikes are NOTHING compared to what your talking about though lol. They are pretty much just a day or 2 of walking up very big hills.
from the link this is the hike were doing: Falls Trail: 7.2 miles, most difficult hiking
The full loop of this trail is 7.2 miles if hiking both the upper and lower sections. To see most of the waterfalls, a 3.2-mile loop can be taken by going on Highland Trail and the Glen Leigh and Ganoga Glen sides of the trail. The trails follow along 21 beautiful waterfalls ranging in heights from 11 feet to 94 feet. The scenery is well worth the effort, however, the terrain is rocky, can be slippery, and descends steeply on both the Ganoga and Glen Leigh sides. Hikers should take extra precautions with trail conditions, wear proper footwear, stay on the trail, and be in good physical condition.

My anniversarry is in a month…I’m totally lost…I have no idea what to get him. We are on a pretty tight budget too. We want to go on a little road trip…so if we can manage the funds maybe we will forgoe gifts and have that be our gift. I have thought about writing something out…like something special. I feel like I didn’t hardly get to talk to him on our wedding day and looking back there’s so many thigns I would have wanted to say! Also…kinda hoping ot get knocked up this next cycle..sot hat would be a nice gift…but can’t count on that.

Our first Anniversary is still 6 months away…
But I plan with this Marriage to follow the Traditional & Modern Anniversary Gift Lists (1st is Paper OR Clocks)
Haven’t figured out what I’ll be giving him yet… but I am sure it will be great
Lol, I am known to be a very generous (and creative) Gift Giver
