@Wonderstruck:  I’m so sorry, hun. That’s really stinks! I was so miserable during the first 4 months pregnant, I totally empathize. I cried all the time because I felt so awful. Can you reschedule the hotel room? If not, I’d just go and relax in bed all evening, watch a movie together, hold hands, etc. I think we only had sex once during my first tri, I just felt too crappy… don’t feel bad about it – it just is what it is. If you can reschedule, I’d move the activities you’ve planned to a time when you’re feeling better and just plan something low key for tonight.

@Wonderstruck:  Oh boo! That really sucks 🙁 I would be disappointed too, but the bright side is of course a beautiful bub at the end. I know that doesn’t help but it is very exciting.

I am sorry darling. Make sure you have a proper celebration when you start to feel better!

I went through this!  I was exactly like this for our first anniversary last year.  We were supposed to go apple picking, but I couldn’t bring myself to do it, so I spent the day on the sofa in sweatpants.  I did eat my one bite of cake saved from the wedding, and it tasted so awful that I chugged a whole glass of water, and then I threw up the whole mess.

It was awful.  I was disappointed, and sullen, and just overall, it was a let down, from what we had planned.  But Darling Husband was sweet, and in the end, when he was scrubbing my vomit off the carpet, I thought how much he was exemplifying his vow to love me in sickness, and it was pretty sweet.

This year, I’m again pregnant for our 2nd anniversary, so no hot tub STILL, but I feel much better, so we’re going to make up for it with a little trip!  So just think, next year, you can make it up to yourselves.

P.S. Happy Anniversary!

I’m going to be 9 weeks along on our anniversary and we’re planning a trip to Maine. I’m so scared I’ll feel too awful to enjoy any of it!

@Wonderstruck:  Mine was extreme like that with Dirty Delete, I got threatened with the IV too. Zofran WAS a miracle drug, however, you should be warned–it didn’t make it go away, but it did make it bearable.  I was taking it as soon as I possibly could, because toward the end of the 4/6 hours period, whatever it was, the nausea was back.  But eventually, I weaned myself down to just in the morning, and by the time I was about halfway through the pregnancy, the morning sickness was gone.

Also, be prepared–I clung to that 2nd trimester date like it was a life preserver.  I genuinely expected to just wake up at 12 weeks and feel better.

It didn’t work that way, and I was devestated.  So, just keep that in mind.  I hope yours lets up soon!

I’m so sorry, I completely sympathise!! I am feeling pretty much how you describe and it has brought me to tears several times. And then I feel guilty for complaining because i am pregnant. There’s not much advice I can give you because i’m in the same boat. I guess just try not to force yourself to do too much. Happy Anniversary!x
