Did anyone else not really care about a 1st anniversary present (either giving or receiving)?
I have no idea why I’m feeling this way – because usually I am a huge present giver and love receiving presents. However, as our anniversary gets closer – I’m finding I could really care less.
I wonder if Darling Husband will be disappointed if I don’t have a present for him….

We didn’t do presents, and I didn’t even think of it until a few days before our anniversary. We did a weekend away and that was enough of a “gift”. I think the only special thing I planned was to get an 8″ round cake from the baker who did our wedding cake.
Of course, I did ask “are we planning on doing gifts for this thing?” just to make sure we were both on the same page.

Have you talked to him about it? I got Darling Husband a gift but it’s not like I went all out. I found tix to DH’s favorite band in concert – the tix were like $30/piece which wasn’t bad at all. They were paper so it worked and he loved it. I definitely do more for birthdays/Christmas than I did for our anniversary!

We gave ourselves gifts for our first anniversary. They were things that we wanted, and justified purchasing them at that time. This year, we’re going to visit some friends, so that’s our gift to ourselves.

We are gonna give the traditional gifts for our anniversaries – 1st year = paper, 2nd year = Cotton. I think that’s why I’m excited. It’s almost like a game! I got my husband 1 stock certificate in a company that he likes. It was clever – and I think he will really like it!

Neither of us are really big gift people for just about any occasion – anniversary, christmas, birthdays. We don’t really want much and if we do, we usually just buy it so its hard to think of what else we might want for a gift for each other.
