I have finally found a local female doctor who is willing to see me as a new patient. She specialises in women’s health & family planning. We will be TTC in 12 months time. I was hoping for some suggestions with what I could be asking? Preparing etc?
I plan to request a pap smear & have a breast check. I am worried that my body ‘isn’t’ up to scratch’ as I have a lot of food intolerances. I also have very heavy / painful periods.
Weirdly, I’m slightly excited…1st step in getting me ‘ready’ & it all becoming real..
What did you ask for doc before ttc?

I spoke to my doctor about medication I take – she had to switch me to something safer for use during pregnancy. I also asked about when to start prenatals and she basically told me “whenever.” Not very helpful. :/
You’ll probably want to talk about the painful periods, as it could be (but isn’t necessarily) a sign of a problem. It could very well be nothing, but it’s worth mentioning. I had very painful periods before I went on the pill. Interestingly enough, my periods were very light and not painful at all when I stopped the pill and I got pregnant four months later.
