So my first dress fitting is in a couple hours. I’m really excited but nervous too. I picked this dress out in June so it got here rather quickly I think. Since picking out the dress we changed the wedding location and theme, but I think the dress will still work.
I found out today that no one will be going with me. I was really excited to share this with my Mom and Maid/Matron of Honor as well as get their opinion on the dress in terms of alterations, and if they still love it like they did the first time around. For reasons that are beyond my control, they cannot attend and honestly, I’m really bummed about it.
Any bee’s attend their first dress fitting lonesome? Did you still enjoy the experience even though you had no one to share it with?

My aunt was supposed to come with me, but she bailed at the last minute, and I ended up going by myself. It ended up being a blessing, because it was the first time that I had seen the dress on me when I was by myself, and I didn’t have anybody else’s opinions about it to factor in. I got to really “see” the dress for myself, and although I’m still upset with my aunt to this day (for bailing on pretty much all wedding related experiences, not just this one), ultimately, I’m glad it happened, because I think it was the first time that I truly fell in love with my dress.

I went to my fitting alone. My mom and sister came to my second fitting which really was more important as you are looking at the alterations after they have been done and critiquing them. I know it can be upsetting, but you’ll have multiple fittings.

I actually only had my mom, sister, and little baby niece with me for all my fittings. I just like to keep it small and intimate and plus they know know know my style and I trust their judgements. But I don’t think I could do it alone. . . More power to you for doing it alone!!!

I went to all but the last of my fittings alone. It wasnt intentional but happened because my mother refused to go. Although it was good though. It was so much easier with only my opinion!

I went to all my fittings by myself. It just wasn’t that big of a deal to me I guess. Getting my dress back was, but people seeing how it fit wasn’t.

I brought my mom, but I would have been fine on my own. It was more important to bring friends to my last fitting so they could learn to tie the bustle.
How did it go?
