So I had my first dress fitting last Saturday, and my careful dieting has paid off – she had to take it in several inches! But I still have my problem area – a big, poochy belly! My dress is a mermaid style and now that I am smaller all over, my stomach is even more noticeable! I got upset and teared up a little bit because I just feel like if it weren’t for that one thing, it would be perfect, but my big tummy won’t budge. I hate that I will be feeling self-conscious about it the whole day.
I am watching what I eat very carefully, drinking lots of water and taking fiber supplements for the next 25 days (eee!) until the wedding, but what I really need is an extra strength girdle! I wore Spanx but I really don’t feel like it pulls me in – just sort of smooths.
So does anyone know of any great, extra strong tummy shapers? Tips and tricks for getting my belly flatter would be appreciated as well!

Reduce your sodium like crazy, no packaged foods, no carbonated drinks, no gum. All of those things make your tummy look more bloated than it is.

Aww, I wish I could give you a suggestion. FWIW, I am sure you look amazing and your “big tummy” doesn’t look nearly as big as you think! You might be able to drop 5-10 pounds if you cut out a lot of carbs and sugars.

Hi, Have you ever heard about the body magic girdle? Here is the google link where you can find ot more about it. It slims you down and takes you in up to 3 sizes. I tried it because one of the ladies at my church gave one to my mom as a gift. She didn’t think she needed it so she gave it to me and to my surprise it actullly slimmed me down by 2 sizes. I am 130lbs and am 5’4 and a half but I had gained a few lbs in Thanksgiving before I ordered my dress so I did a measure with it and without it since the salon wanted me to rder a size 12 which it turned out would have been too big either way. Anyway, there are a lot of local women here in Michigan who sell it but it is national, so you should be able to find someone near you. It is kind of like the new MaryKay. Check it out.

I have the same issue as you! Lost a bunch of weight but still have a poochy tummy. I have tried several things and none of them make my tummy look as flat as this thing. It’s the Instant Slimmer Firm Control Waistshaper by Flexees.
I don’t need flattening anywhere but around my midsection and this does the trick…flattens tummy, trims, the waist, and it’s very comfortable to wear.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I do need to cut back on sodium and carbonation, but Diet Coke is my ONE guilty pleasure, as I am keeping the rest of my diet very clean! I am already consuming hardly any sugar or carbs as it is – basically just fruit and the very occasional bowl of high-fiber cereal.
shanibee, thanks for the suggestion on Body Magic! I am checking it out now. I would prefer something I could buy online or in a store though, as I don’t know anyone around here who sells these products…

I just bought one of these in a size small (I would normally get medium) and it does a pretty good job of squeezing everything in:
I was able to try it on first at JCPenny’s but they didn’t have the right size/color combo.

i found the most amazing one at Macys! seriously i am a size 16 and it make my tummy flat! i returned it though bc it did not work well with my bra. also, i cant find it on their website. so i guess i am not much help but i would suggest going to macys and looking at those. it was a nude color, covers from under your bra to your hips and had hooks that you hooked up. they come in size s, m, l ,xl and 2x (not sure what size you are) i got the xl. it was $36…

Understand. Check to see if they have an 800 number or something to see if you can find a rep in your area. It really works. They can be purchased online too, which is what most people do. I believe all the representativses get set up with web sites for web orders, but if you want to try it on I think you need to meet with a rep that has them for you to try to make sure its your size. They measure you to the fit.
I just checked and it looks like this one is the one you might use. It is called the golden Corset. I will ask the lady from my church if she can give me more information.
Also, here is the contact us information.
