Definitely bring any undergarments you’re planning on wearing.  If you don’t know whether you want to wear spanx yet, bring them with you (if you have them).  It can’t hurt to have them and you don’t have to wear them if everything looks fine without.  At least you’ll know.

Most importantly, make sure you bring the shoes you plan on wearing with the dress.  If you haven’t made a decision yet on what shoes you’re wearing, try to do so before you fitting.  Most dresses probably have to be hemmed at the bottom, so it’s very important to know what size heel you’ll be wearing to get the hem right.

Also, I highly encourage you to bring along a friend to take pictures and "oohh and ahhh" over you.  Preferably a bridesmaid that will help you make decisions on what to do to the dress and which veil to wear, etc.  Plus, you’ll need someone to learn how to bussle your dress so she can do it for you at the wedding.

Have a great time!  It’s a very fun experience!

I haven’t been to a fitting yet, but I would go ahead and take the shoes, the strapless bra, and anything else you have along those lines. You may not need them, but it seems like it would be better to have them there just in case!

Good luck! I’m sure it’s going to be a great time, and I am completely jealous! Wish I were in your shoes!

My dress just came in too! 😀  The alterations department told me that I MUST bring the shoes I am wearing and the undergarments I think I want to use.

Have fun!

I had my shoes at my first fitting but it didnt matter. She had to take the bodice in first before we could really figure out the length. I wouldn’t stress about it too much. 🙂
