when you were getting your dress fitted (or even trying on dresses for that matter) did you get a lot of feedback from the people you brought with you?? i totally felt like i would have been better off going alone because the people i brought with me were no help at all. i think that shows like say yes to the dress ruined the dress shopping experience for me because i was expecting crying and people being excited and rainbows and sprinkles and just being completely in awe of me (hahaha) – and that didn’t happen!! and NOW… NOW i’m wondering if i just didn’t pick the right dress…
i drove home crying from my 1st fitting because pretty much the whole time they sat there and did not say a word!!i i actually said, “someone say SOMETHING!” two or three women in the store told me the dress looked beautiful but i really wanted to hear it from my family. gah! so frustrating….

I didn’t have any crying when I tried my dress on when it came in. Don’t feel bad. I think for most people if its not about them it does not interest them. My sister said to me “its pretty”, I didn’t think that it is a very exciting answer to my wedding dress. Then I thought who cares I love it. You should have had some happy compliments when you tried your dress on. When you go again take better people with you. One’s that are excited for you happiness and your new life. I would love to see your pictures, I bet the dress is beautiful and you are in it too.

right! i just wanted some happy compliments! i know they are happy for me and i honestly was just kind of shocked that they weren’t more emotional. it made me feel like maybe they didn’t like the dress.
i’m going to PM you a pic of me in my dress. thanks for your kind response 🙂 ETA: can i even do that? i don’t know how to PM a picture. oops, my bad!

When I first found my dress, I was with my previous Maid/Matron of Honor (long story, I’ll post the story another time), she woudln’t say anything about my dress which at that point I really didn’t care because I absolutely loved my dress. I bought the dress at a trunk show so cheaper for me 🙂
When my dress came in, I went with my new MOH’s (maid and matron of honor) and with Bridesmaid or Best Man and went I came out, they all went “AWWWW” and absolutely loved my dress. I’ve been back to the bridal store to try on my dress, I’ve showed it to my Future Mother-In-Law and she also loved it.
I also thought I was going to cry like the show but I didn’t, instead I just smiled from ear to ear and I just knew it was the one!!!

Did you ask them how they felt about the dress? Maybe they just didnt want to be too vocal.. DId you take them with you when you were shopping for the dress or after you had already bought the dress
