i went for my first fitting last week and *palm to forehead*! i am so nervous about the bridal salon being able to alter my gown. they ordered a size 6 based on my measurements. my gown fits perfectly up top, but the hip/butt area is way too tight. i couldn’t sit down with it on! they said they can let it out, but i just don’t see how. based on the scale, i have not gained any weight, but i have noticed that my clothes fit differently so i think my body may have just changed a bit. i go back for my next fitting in 2 weeks and wedding day is quickly approaching. i would hate to have to stand during my reception :-/

If they say they can let it out – they can.
From the picture of the back, there appears to be several options/opportunities to let it out. Don’t worry.

My seamstress told me that wedding gowns in general always have enough seem allowance to be let out, the designers do it on purpose. I wouldn’t worry, if they say that they can do it, they can do it. I kind of feel ya here. I wanted my trumpet to fit like a glove. My seamstress pinned it that way, and said “Okay now sit”… Um that didn’t work. I think she wanted her I Told You So moment.
Bottom line, don’t worry. They will be able to alter it so that it fits you perfectly and you are comfortable. You dress is beautiful, By The Way, and you look stunning in it!
