Tickets to a game or a show you guys like, standard guy stuff like wallet/socks/shirts/scarf, clothes or barware related to his favorite sports team, fun things/crafts to do together (we like food/drinking related stuff like a sushi-making kit), tools if he’s into fixing stuff, a bottle of his fave cologne, a bottle of his fave liquor, a sampler pack of beer/wine he might like…

Thinkgeek.com and uncommongoods.com are my new best friends when it comes to man gifts.  And Amazon of course.

I got mine a groupon for a fishing outing.  I plan to put the certificate in a box full of fishing supplies.  I’m also going to get him some nice slippers and maybe some kind of daddy keepstake.  We are having a Christmas baby.  I guess that will be the best Christmas present I could ever give.  : )

I bought mine a Winchester Bowie knife. He originally bought his groomsmen the same knife as a thank you gift, but since only two of them would enjoy them he decided to return them and bought them more traditional gifts. He’s been kicking himself for not keeping one since every time he goes back its always sold out. I’m hoping its going to be a great gift.

I’m getting mine a Kindle, because he was super jealous of mine last holiday.

its our first christmas too! So excited to wake up together and open gifts! I’ve been workin on my husbands gifts forever! So this is what I came up with:

Stocking:

  1. key chain with 2 mini screw drivers on it
  2. chocolate orange (he loves them)
  3. subway gift card (he likes to go there on his lunch breaks and this will be fun for him)
  4. a grpahic T-Shirt that i know he will think is hilarious, I wrapped it up like a big tootsie roll

Under the Tree:

  1. carhartt hat & scarf
  2. pliers that he asked for
  3. tripod flashlight for working under the hood
  4. Season 1-4 of a sitcom he loves that they no longer play

i have no idea.

we went on a trip last month and that was supposed to be our “gift”.  we did the same thing last year too.

problem is, he got me something.  he just put it under our little trees.  (no big tree, just little white feather trees displayed on the table).  he says it’s just something little but i didn’t even ask for anything.  i have no idea what it is.

he loves good tequila and i know that there are a few expensive ones that he has had his eye on but i have no idea which ones.  i don’t want to get the wrong one.

what to do???

@mypinkshoes:  Could you get a gift card for a liquor store or an online specialty store? You could put it in a basket with a Mexican food kit, with a fun cd and maybe a pinata. =)

@Dancensations:  Have you checked out etsy? It might be too late for that but I’ve gotten customized presents from there and my SO loved them, and I think they probably cost less than $20.

This Christmas is supposed to be light because we moved across country, paid for me to take bar review  course plus bar exam itself plus bar dues when I passed this month. So, on Black Friday I bought him two just came out video games he’s been eyeing for $25 total, and they usually cost $60 a piece. I found some gloves that are like techie or whatever so you can still text while wearing your gloves for $10 from Macy’s, and then a sandiwch maker on sale for $20 at macy’s because he was super jealous when he saw I got it for his dad’s gift! You can find some amazing deals around this time too- lots of one day deals and stuff. Oh, but he got me an ipad mini. I am SO mad, because Christmas is supposed to be light! He doesn’t know I know, but of course I know when something’s up, and he kind of gave it away!

we totally took the easy way out this year. as we were shopping for other people, whenever we saw stuff we liked for ourselves, we’d buy it for each other. i don’t even know why we bothered wrapping anything, lol. he picked out a jacket for snowboarding, a travel coffe cup (kinda boring, but he lost his and needed a replacement), some sort of holder thingie for his phone, some cologne, and i also got him a shirt (which he didn’t pick out, so i hope he likes it).

@MariaW:  thank you for the suggestions.  the gift card may be a good idea.  they also have a really cute deli/cafe at the liquor store that he wants to try.  as for the mexican stuff, we have a home in mexico so we are surrounded by stuff all of the time.  it wouldn’t be as special.
