For those that have been pregnant or are currently pregnant, when you felt your first movemens in your pregnancy, what were they like? I’ve heard people say things like flutters, butterflies, etc. but how noticeable are those movements? I feel like I’m going to miss it or pass it off as gas or something haha. I’m only 15 weeks so I most likely haven’t had any yet but I know its probably coming soon. Thanks in advance!

For me it started around 17 weeks and the best description I could come up with was this: you know those big bubble wands that kids can play with that make long, oblong bubbles that kind of slowly change shape as they are formed and lift off into the air? I felt like I had one of those in my stomach and it was wiggling around and changing shape. About two weeks later it became more noticeable movement/kicks.

For me it felt like a little butterfly flying around in there, just little flutters at first. By the end it felt like he was playing in the NBA, lol.

In the beginning you probably will question what it is. Thinking it’s gas is really common. Eventually you will figure it out 🙂

I was about 17 weeks. For me, it felt like a goldfish was swimming around in my tummy – I felt little flutters/bubbles…

It felt exactly like blowing bubbles and having them pop inside of me! Goldfish, like MalbecMe said, is another great way to describe it. It was such an incredible feeling and definitely one that I had not felt before! Now it’s full blown karate…my whole pregnant belly shakes when my little girl gets going 😀

It honestly really felt like digestive bubbles – I can’t think of any other way to describe it. I was waiting for the flutters that a lot of people talk about but I never felt any. I finally figured it out when I would feel a gas bubble but nothing would happen afterwards (sorry if that’s TMI). Also, I have an anterior placenta and didn’t start feeling any of this until 22 weeks. Now at 32 weeks of course, I’m getting kicks and squirms all over the place! I’d say though, it wasn’t until about 24 – 25 weeks that I started getting definite movement that was discernible from everythg else.

I have an anterior placenta, so I didn’t feel movement until 21/22 weeks. It felt like thumping.

Halfway through my 17th week. It felt like someone was blowing bubbles in my lower abdomen near my pelvis. I also felt gas bubbles up higher but I knew that wasn’t the baby. This was different than that. A bit more sudden and faster. I didn’t start feelin thumping hard kicks until 20 weeks and now that I am close to 22 they are really hard. I have a posterior placenta. Hubby felt him too just the other day.

Like something was burping in my uterus.

With DS I never felt any flutters, only obvious kicks at about 20 weeks. With this baby I have felt her since 12 weeks (flutters) and strong kicks for quite a while now- I’m currently 20 weeks.
But my placenta is anterior (so i am meant to have felt her less than normal) with this baby and it wasn’t for DS so it just goes to show that every pregnancy is different.

I felt the baby for the first time at 16 weeks and a couple days.
It sort of felt like a goldfish was swimming back and forth in my tummy…it was a super light fluttery feeling, but definitely felt like something NEW (it was impossible to mistake it for something like indigestion).

I have anterior placenta as well- I didn’t feel anything until right around 20 weeks. And then it felt like thumps.

I felt it between 18-20 weeks. The very first time it felt like little bubbled moving up my belly. Later, when I started to feel it more regularly, it felt like.. you know when someone has their knee in the back of your seat and they move it around? Like that.
