Hello, fellow May 31 Bees! Every time I think about marrying my sweet Fiance, I am still getting happy-shivers in my tummy!
How are you doing? Is anyone feeling scared? I thought I might, this being my 2nd time around, after an unpleasant 20 year marriage. But I’m not! I think it’s because it’s normal and healthy and really good this time!
Venue is all set- FI’s family farm
Caterer locked in, still need to meet with them.
Dress/undergarments and veil obtained- and waiting in my dad’s upstairs closet.
Officiant booked- my little brother from NYC! Still need to discuss ceremony wording.
Maid/Matron of Honor and MOB dresses bought. That was a challenge!
Flower girls have their dresses.
Honeymoon booked- sweet little cabin for 2.
Bridal shower planned- Maid/Matron of Honor asked me what I want/need and there’s not anything, really. I love recipes and HATE strippers and penis straws, so she’s incorporating that and texting with my mom alot.
Creek rocks collected for centerpieces, clear vases available from coworker.
Invitations went out last week! And I’ve gotten 3 local RSVP’s back!
Cake- Maid/Matron of Honor is making it as our gift.
Need to Do:
Buy Fiance a jacket- the one we picked out online was so tight on his arm muscles that it was cutting off his circulation! Will have to bite the bullet and go to Men’s Wearhouse, I think.
Start meeting with our marriage mentors next week- I’m excited for this!
Get my tattoos touched up- they’ll be showing with my strapless gown and are a little faded. Of course, my artist moved, so I’m tracking him down.
Make sure about borrowing tables/chairs.
Buy table coverings and silverware and napkins.
Put together bouttineires- DIY. FI lives on family farm and proposed to me while we were baling hay, so I’m going to use bird feathers, hay, and wild flower for that.
Put together bouquet- we planted blue iris bulbs last fall, so counting on them! But will buy some flowers at the shop the day before, if we need to, and put them together.
Put together centerpieces.
Buy some blue tulle for decorating.
Meet with caterer.
Sounds like alot, but I like making lists and this helps me keep it all straight in my mind.
What have you all done? And what’s left to do? Are you making sure to stay grounded during all of this whirlwind?
I’m keeping my feet firmly on the ground by continuing my daily devotionals, praying lots, staying busy at work and making great memories with Mom before I move out and get married. Right now, we’re taking a gardening class! I’ll be a farm wife and will get lots of practice!
Big hugs, fellow May Bees!
