My Fiance and I are in LOVE with the sleepy hollow country club for our venue. Only problem is my parents aren’t thrilled about the setup which is a beautiful ballroom and a dining room off each side of it. The space is very open and we love the formal dinner party feel of everything but they are worried people won’t feel a part of the wedding if they aren’t sitting on the same side as the bride and groom. Everyone can see the dance floor and hear the music and see the other rooms. How can we A. ease thier worries and B. make sure people don’t actually feel that way? Anyone else have a wedding with a similar situation or get married at sleepy hollow country club and it was AMAZING?!

My fiance and I went to see the space this passed weekend and absolutely loved it. I felt completely transported. I too had a similar concern about the two dining rooms but the two rooms were so unique from each other. One way my planner who has done 2 weddings there suggested we deal with the issue is to strategically assign tables or have two head tables, one in each dining room, where you and your groom can move back and forth during dinner. If that doesn’t work because you have two many guests (over 200) then you and your groom can sit in the main room and you have some type of receiving line or greet your guests at the cocktail hour. I really think the place is a hidden gem so we are going to try to make it work. Let me know what you decided.
