I’m very recently engaged so no date set yet. My Fiance were talking about who we want to stand up with us. He has two brothers, so he’d naturally have them in the party. He doesn’t have any real long-time close friends so he’s having a hard time thinking about which one he’d name “best man.”
I have a best friend from childhood who I’ve stayed in touch with on and off throughout the years but more recently since she got married and I was Maid/Matron of Honor in her wedding a couple months ago.
I also have a best friend from high school who was the most loyal and faithful friend through college and my adult life. She lives on the opposite coast now and I don’t talk to her as often but she has done EVERYTHING for me and I’m not even kidding.
The above two would be great contenders for Maid/Matron of Honor but I would have SO MUCH TROUBLE picking one over the other. Has anyone ever had 2 maids of honor or best men? Did they both do a separate toast? I’ve been to receptions before where like EVERYONE did a toast and it was a little frustrating. If I have 4 toasts at my reception, will I want to poke my eyes out?
We’re also thinking of my brother to be a groomsman to make it a pretty 3 on each side. In that case, I’d have to pick another bridesmaid. My uncle unabashedly suggested my cousin when I called him to make my engagement announcement. Although that was pretty forward, I’m glad he said something because I love my cousin and she’d be so excited!
Then again with 2 Best Men, 2 MOH’s all 4 making a speech…that 3rd silent wheel might feel left out. So maybe it’s better to just stick with two and call it a day.
