My boyfriend and I have been looking at rings for the last 2 years and decided that it’s finally time to take the plunge and get engaged. We have decided to go with moissanite for several reasons. I LOVE the ovals and am so torn between a 2.25 ct equivalent or a 3 ct equivalent from moissaniteco. I will NOT be getting a ring with a halo, so I will not have that to make the ring look bigger on my finger. I do have large fingers (size 9.25) and would like good coverage, however, I don’t want it to be too flashy and in the way. I also will be going with 6 prongs as security is a huge worry of mine. PLEASE share your pictures of similar oval moissy rings on larger fingers and/or with 6 prongs!

Personally … I think you might find 3ct too big… Especially with the way moissy reflects light. I think the 2.25ct would be better. I have a 1.4 or 1.6 ct white sapphire (i know different stone then youre considering)… But the size… Looks huge to me. Im a size 6.5. 2.25ct seems like a safe bet

At least in diamonds, ovals and pears tend to face up larger than their weight. The 3ct may attract more attention, people notice size first. If you don’t need that kind of attention, get the 2.25 which is a great size also.

If you have long slender fingers a 2.25 is fine! It’s a great size. However, I have short fat stocky size 7.5 fingers and found a 3ct the perfect size. Good luck bee!

sunburn : Thank you! That’s what I was thinking as well. I don’t want a ton of attention drawn towards my ring, but I also don’t want to regret not going bigger.

marriedalready69 : Your ring is gorgeous! I’m just so torn between sizes. I want to go big, but am worried about going too big. I also have shorter, stockier, fat fingers. I’m hoping the oval will help to elongate them a bit.

I would go with the 3ct. This is a pic of my 2.7 ct center moissy ring on a size 7 and I think it is the perfect size

Stone shrinkage syndrome is real. Lol. I would go with the 3 carat. Then you won’t ever have to upgrade. ๐
