So… My boyfriend is going to propose in the very near future, and as nearly all girls do, am starting to ponder upon all the details of this upcoming wedding. Here is a scenario that I would love feedback on, given that I can’t ask around without a ring. 🙂
Long story short: I very much want a late spring / early summer wedding, and most of my family lives scattered around the east coast. We want to minimize costs, but I still want it to be simply beautiful and elegant. And my (soon-to-be official) fiance is NOT a social butterfly and would probably be uncomfortable in a large, traditionally formal wedding. Here is my creative solution answering these challenges, while not forcing me to choose between formal and casual. Is it just too crazy?
Friday evening: ceremony – open to everyone at our church
Friday night: intimate reception to bridal party, immediate family, and close friends (max 50?)
Saturday afternoon: potluck-style picnic reception – open to everyone
