@pegaloca:  If you remember, can you tell me what other caterers you have tried? I want to do a tasting before I book anything. Do you know how early Milly needs to be booked and the deposit needed to hold the date? I will probably be back in PR six months before the wedding.

@LobitaCubana:  I also tried Catering Casa Martin (www.cateringcasamartin.com) and they were pretty good and had decent prices. I gave a $500 deposit for Milly (but i could have given much less) and booked her almost a year before the wedding because I got her at one of these bridal shows! ๐Ÿ™‚

@MrsRebaHairston:  Milly does mostly Puerto Rican cuisine but I think she can do just about anything. In my case I have 100 guests and the total cost with 5 waiters, 1 bartender, and plates, glasses, etc was $1992 if I’m not mistaken. We have to bring the alcoholic beverages.

Hey ladies, do any of you have any information on pricing and experience with Antiguo Casino de San Juan? It is one of the venues I am looking forward to checking out when i visit in January as a possible wedding reception location. Also, I like the budget friendliness of Casa de Espana but I feel like in every photo I see, there is no room for a dancefloor. FH and I have dancing families so I fear this would be a problem for 120 guests. Let me know if any of you have any info on these so that I can jot it down before my visit. Thanks so much–this is the best PR wedding info thread I’ve read, yay!

@AlyPV:  The casino look gorg…although I have just seen pictures!

Not sure what your budget is, but looks like food and beverage is exclusive to the venue. hugeeeee price difference from Casa de Espana!

I’m sure there are different ways to rearrange the tables at Casa de Espana to make room for the dancefloor…so both are prob def worth looking into

this website says 15K F&B min eeek!

@AlyPV: I’m having my wedding at Casa de España. The room isn’t huge but tables can definitely be accomodated for dancing. Who isn’t dancing at a wedding!? When you visit PR, go to the venue on a Saturday afternoon and you can see the room all set up. I stopped by a few times during my visit in October and saw the place set up a few different ways.

Ladies I am from Puerto Rico. Feel free to PM if there is anything I could help with. I know a little bit about venues.

I hope you can work out your perfect days here or wherever is more convenient for you ๐Ÿ™‚

@LobitaCubana:  Great Idea! I knew something had to be able to be worked out because I was thinking the same thing! Who is ok with no dance space at a wedding?! My only issue is that I have a large guest list (approx 120)…I’m hoping that that being said, we can still accomodate something because I love the venue itself and the architectute.

I love Antiguo but I had my jaw on the floor about the price for minimum consumption as well ๐Ÿ™ We are trying to keep ALL wedding costs under $35K so we shall see. I’d rather splurge on photographer and get to choose my own food. Thanks for the heads up about visiting during a Saturday–we are visiting Jan 13-19, I can’t wait!

@AlyPV:  I also have a pretty large guestlist (about 150) and I’ll think we’ll be fine. When you see the room set up in person then you can decide if you are comfortable with the space. I also searched for a million pictures online to see how the room was set up for people with larger events.
