I felt the first *somethings* around 16 weeks, but I can’t be sure they were the baby! I honestly can’t remember when exactly I felt the first movement that was DEFINITELY baby, but I know that now (23w2d) I feel baby move all the time! I can even see the movements from the outside if I’m lying down 🙂

I think I was definitely feeling movement by 21 weeks, and I have an anterior placenta so they said it might take me longer to feel movement than normal. Maybe your LO is just sleeping all day! Lol

I would guess you have an anterior placenta as well (your placenta is in the front, so basically a giant cushion between your tummy and baby).  It’s totally normal to not feel anything yet… I never really felt the flutters either, I have an anterior placenta, and then one day I felt a destinct kick (or punch), so I kinda skipped over those lighter gentler feelings, and the first thing I felt that I knew for sure was baby was a definite kick… that was around 21 weeks.  I’m sure you’ll feel something in the next couple of weeks 🙂

I’m also a FTM (to be) and did not feel a single thing until 21 weeks.  When I did start feeling it, it wasn’t a flutter the way people describe.  It was more like a bubble at first.  I’m 26 weeks now and feel definite kicks throughout the day, I love it.  You’ll feel it any minute!

I felt “flutters” starting at 16 weeks. I can’t remember when I began to feel actual movements, maybe 19 or 20 weeks.

palchicka:  I don’t think it feels like flutters at all!  I describe it more like what a muscle twitch feels like.  Felt the little guy at 19wk 5d (just last week).

Another FTM with an anterior placenta. I felt things where I didn’t know if it was baby or digestion around 18 weeks. It wasn’t until 22 weeks I actually knew it was baby. At 24.5 weeks my husband could feel it, too.

FTM with anterior placenta. I first felt something at 20 weeks while laying on my back during a prenatal massage. Only felt movement while lying down for the next 4-5 weeks, and hubby didn’t feel until about 27 weeks. Mine felt like bubbles rather than flutters back then 🙂
