YAY! FINALLY! He took me to nearby Noccalula Falls. The legend is that Noccalula, a young Cherokee girl was in love with a young man in her tribe. Her father, the chief, promised her hand in marriage to the chief of a neighboring tribe who was able to offer many things in exchange. Her lover was banished and the wedding was arranged. She was so upset that she couldn’t marry the man she loved that she jumped over the falls to her death.
So he asked me, “So, what is the history here?”
I answered, “Ummm…suicide?”
He said, “Yeah, but why?”
I said, “Because she couldn’t marry who she wanted?”
Then he got down on one knee, presented the ring, and said, “If you say no, I’m going to have to go join Noccalula!”
A little corny, but funny….or maybe a bit morbid. But the location is beautiful and so is my ring 🙂
There she is, ready to take the leap.
And my ring 🙂 SOOOO excited!!!
