Okay, I am going insane at this point.
Haven’t done a HPT in a while, but almost two weeks ago I did a blood test that was negative, but today I found out it was a qualitative test. Is it possible that my HCG levels were too low for it to detect at around 13 days (possibly) pregnant?
I have a gyno appointment at the end of the month to look for cysts or any other irregularities that may be causing all of this this. I just find it interesting that my doctor gave me a qualitative test and sent me to a gyno before giving me a quantitative test to be sure.
Am I insane for not being able to shake this feeling that I’m pregnant? 🙁

If you are 23 days late why don’t you date an at home test?

At home tests were created exactly for this reason.

frommisstomrs.: I’m assuming you’ve taken plenty of home tests…
I was 2 weeks late last month and was conviced I was pregnant, despite lots of BFNs. Turns out I ovulated late. If a blood test came back negative that long after your missed period, then I doubt you’re pregnant. 🙁
I hope you can figure out what’s going on.

I should specify that although I’m 23 days late, if I ovulated and the timing worked out, that would only put me at 24 days pregnant. I want to test again, but I’m tired of seeing negatives. I keep telling myself that maybe it’s too early.

frommisstomrs.: I’m just confused at why you haven’t gotten a test at the store and tested at home? I found out I was pregnant after being one day late, with an at home test.

I used an at-home test and found out I was pregnant at 14dpo. You should know now.

Jennifferq: I haven’t tested at home since my blood test. My situation is a little different because I have no idea when or if I ovulated because I was on birth control but had taken antibiotics. All I know is my husband and I had unprotected sex the night before my period was supposed to start and I haven’t had my period since, but I’ve had every symptom of being on my period.

Do a home test. This is your body and your life and you should be in/ take some more control. A home test can help answer some questions now, and if it is negative, definately follow up with the gyno

It doesn’t matter if your situation is different. Just take a test! I found out that I was pregnant only 2 weeks after sex (and I know for sure the date it happened since DH was away before that.)
Have you been stressed out lately? I didn’t have my period for 2 months after I was laid off last year, so of course I was convinced I was pregnant because I had never missed a period before.

frommisstomrs.: I didn’t get my period for 47 days after going off BCPs. I didn’t ovulate that cycle. I did ovulate my next cycle and got a positive test 18 days past ovulation. It may be nothing, but take a test.

Ryansgirl: No more stress than usual. Other than getting sick and being on antibiotics, nothing different was going on our lives. I suppose I’ll be taking another home test when I leave the office today.

Sometimes we miss periods for no reason at all. Go to the doctor if you’re still worried. We really can’t help you much via the internet.
