I thought I wanted a veil, then saw photos from when I went dress shopping… and decided I didn’t.
But now… 23 days out, and I’m having major regret about not having one.
Assuming I could even pay for one and get it in time (I’d LOVE to have this as my ‘something borrowed’ since I still don’t have that, but don’t have anyone to borrow one from!)… what do you think about a veil with this dress?
The picture is from my first try on, the sleeves are just tucked in here. Since then, it’s all been fitted and stitched and I’ve removed the bottom/longest layer of the sleeves.
I planned on wearing my hair in some sort of low updo with the flower below.
I didn’t wear a veil for my first wedding, and sort of want to for this one, even though our ceremony is outside and it may blow around a little.
What do you think? Would it look good or no?

*and I should clarify – I am wearing a veil in these pictures because the consultant threw it on my head 🙂
It was the picture of the back of it that made me decide I didn’t want one….
but now I’m not sure!

I LOVE that veil with your dress. Also love the sleeves, by the way. I’m personally not a fan of the blue flower.

Yep! The back of the veil hits at the perfect spot for your dress. It’s a gorgeous line from your sleeves to the small of your back.

You could try abusymother on Etsy for a rush veil that is affordable. I’m in Canada and I got my veil in less than 2 weeks (I asked if it could be as quick as possible for a fitting).
I think the total thing with shipping was under $40!
The tulle she uses is a little tougher than bridal illusion tulle, but I really only know this because I was going to make my own (until my cat destroyed the tulle and I just didn’t have the patience). It really won’t be noticable to anyone else. Otherwise the quality is spot on.
I think your dress will look lovely with out a veil too especially if you have some really great jewelery!

You can buy a veil off the rack at some of the bridal stores. If it were me, I’d go with something longer than the one in the picture. I think it would look better if it didn’t stop at the smallest part. I appear to be in the minority though.
I like your dress! It has a sweet look to it, and appears as though the fabric would be very soft.

It’s like I change my mind every 2 seconds!

@AB Bride: Thanks! It’s chiffon – soft and lightweight. I don’t love where this one hit me either, but it’s hard to tell since the dress is ‘chip clipped’ on underneath it.

I just found out you can buy veils on amazon. Search wedding veil. They have fast shipping and good return policies. Good luck! 🙂

They sell them at David’s Bridal ready to go at the store and their prices aren’t terrible. You can also order on line and get it in plenty of time.
