I woke up to a text from my friend who is a MUA and a hairdresser saying that she is so sorry she has to cancel on me. Long story short, she got promoted to full time at a high end beauty supply chain and they informed her that it is mandatory that she be there for a make-up line promo they are having the same day as my wedding so she can’t take it off.
I’m not upset with her, but I’m just bummed. I was excited to have my make-up done and not have to worry about it. Plus all the make-up was hers and she was doing it for free. I have another friend who is a hairdresser doing hair for me and my bridesmaids, but looks like now I’ll have to go the DIY route for make-up.
I’m confident in my abilities to do my own make-up, but I’m not confident in my abilities to buy the more expensive make-up brands. I usually buy drug store brands for everyday make-up.
Anyone have any recommendations? I already have samples of Benefit Foundation and the Benefit POREfessional primer she gave me, but I need a good blush/bronzer, eyeshadows and lipstick that will last all day and not break my bank!

@MissCountryGirl727: Can’t you ask her for suggestions on what she had planned to use on you? Maybe she can even go shopping with you or give you samples to use.

@Treejewel19: We had already picked out everything we were going to use, but since she has to be at work that day (she does make-up there) she needs her make-up with her. I can’t just go to her work and get my make-up done because my wedding is in another town and I’ll be there the day before and day of the wedding. She said she may be able to let me borrow the eyeshadow palette, but she’s not sure yet. I just want suggestions on less expensive brands to use because I can’t afford to buy all Benefit brand stuff.

I love the Maybelline Color Tattoo 24/7 Cream shadows, beautiful colors and last foreeeeever. Same thing goes for their gel eyeliner
Blushes, not too sure about, I only have two blushes a Tarte and Benefit one, but a lot of youtube gurus raved about Milani baked blushes.
I would really just go on youtube and look up different beauty gurus, a lot of them will do drugstore tutorials recommend different products.

@MissCountryGirl727: I don’t wear a lot of makeup, but I now A LOT about it. Benefit Coralista is an AWESOME blush (I bought for my wedding)- although Benefit makes a bunch of great blush/bronzers- and it’s going to depend on your skin.
I’d try MAC for shadows- I’ve always loved MAC shadows.
Do you live near a Sephora? Go in and ask for someone to help you- they are awesome. There are two different ones I frequent- one of them I like the women that work there more than the other, but they are all usually pretty helpful.
