- Wedding: May 2019
Hello ladies (and gents),
I’ve oogled so many posts these past few nights, I joined the weddingbee crew myself 🙂
I’m already married (5 years) and we discussed upgrading my ring in a couple of years… well this week it seems like my cleaning lady made off with my e ring and wedding band so I will need to buy a new one sooner than I like.
I had my heart set on a canary, but it seems most vivids are radiant cut. I can find fancy in pear or oval with inclusions but a vs1 in intense or vivid is very hard to come by. They say the reason is because of the bow-tie effect.. how bad is it? I like the radiant cut but it seems so much smaller than a pear or oval and cost more (though it is a cheaper cut?!) . Maybe because the only pears I saw were light fancy, or fancy?
I have provided 2 pics. My hand is a size 5.5 the canary is a radiant cut centre that is 2.25 that I was strongly considering until I noticed the size difference lol.
The pear I took for comparison only.. but that pear is a 1.75ct centre and a h or I clarity.. I didnt notice a bow tie effect..
Does anyone have a canary or a colorless diamond to show me what they are talking about ? How bad is a bow tie effect in real life? I’m getting mixed info online.
Thank so much everyone!
