You can have more tulle added to a atandard crinoline to make it poofier, rather than going with a hoop. Or, have some tulle sewn right into the dress, in addition to the standard crinoline. Talk to your alterarions person

Are you wearing the mermaid crinoline? I honestly can’t even tell! I do agree that I prefer the fullness of the other bride’s pics. I also agree with MissNoodles that you should talk to your alterations person. I think they can probably make it fuller without getting a hoop. Good luck!

@MissNoodles:  I agree.  Talk to your seamstress.  Maybe it would only be a matter of a small alteration to make your dress look like what you have envisioned.

I bought a mermaid crinoline from davids bridal then I bought lots of stiff tulle and added it to the the crinoline to make it poofier and bigger

I’m surprised to hear that you were wearing a crinoline under the dress in this photo! Are there options of poofier crinolines or petticoats?  Or, what PP are saying – look into getting some tulle added to give your dress the poofiness it needs!  I’m on board for getting more volume to the skirt!

@CatyLady: Yeah, I have a feeling i’ll be looking into something similar myself, so definitely keep us posted on what you end up deciding.  Mom and I are going in tomorrow to see my dress so I’m right behind ya! ๐Ÿ™‚

I definitely like the fullness of the pictures you posted, but worst case scenario, I think the crinoline in your picture is definitely better than none at all! You still look lovely in your dress.

Have you called the salon/alterations department to find out what your options are?

In other words–I don’t think you’ve made a “mistake,” but if you can get a fuller crinoline, that’s great too. Make sense? ๐Ÿ™‚ I don’t want you fretting that you’ve made a “mistake.”
