After wearing my reset DK ring, I have learned what I like and don’t like with the ring. David is wonderful enough to remake the ring for a fraction of the original cost, the direction I want to go is more slender and feminine. The redesign is much slimmer than the original and will be wire cast making it sturdier for 1.9mm thickness. Let me know what y’all think
Here is the original thread
Here is is the redesign, the ring thickness is much slimmer, side traps have been raised to give them more of a presence and the entire head of the ring has been raised to allow better wedding band clearance (the band previously were rubbing the prong). The marquise head will be 18k yellow gold just like the original

I just went through this too, while I loved my ring reset by DK there were a few things that just weren’t working for me. I think it’s even trickier designing a ring with a stone with some color. Sometimes you have to wear a ring for a little while to figure out what you like. I am over the moon with my second reset. I think raising the traps is a great idea. The ring will look more fluid and you will be able to see them much better. Are you still planning on doing a cup to enhance the stone color?

Can’t wait to see the results and the comparison pics. It’s great that you are able to make these tweaks and adjustments so that your ring will better suit you.

orangegreen : it is an O/P that definitely leans towards yellow instead if brown tones, but because we did a gold cup backing the color is enhanced. The gold cup was to help hide the keel line which I hated but it’s an antique cut marquise so I would have had to have it recut to remove, we decide not to do that.
Here is a photo of the diamond unset, you can see the keel line better with the black background
