@ShutterbugCait:  I haven’t, but I think it’s really sweet of you and such an endearing sentiment.  Maybe you could also get little gifts from him to them?

We are also going some special activities at our celebration!  We are going do a Unity Sand Ceremony and also a family dance :).  The kids (all older than your girls) seem really engaged.

Fiance has an 11 year old son from his first marriage and he has full custody of him. Not only is his son his best man, we are doing a Sand ceremony.  I want him part of this wedding 100%

you can also include your girls in the ring ceremony.  why not get the girls a special ring too so they feel completely involved in the union.

We are going to have a sand ceremony & thought about having the kids join in.  (They are 4, 4, & 1, so not sure how well it will really go.)

@penguinof3:    be thankfully their “dad” is only a weekend dad.  My sons sperm donor wants nothing to do with him unless he has a new gf that he is trying to impress.  He hasn’t seen our son since Feb.  My son even went to school & told everyone his father was dead.  (If only we could be so lucky! long story)  My Fiance has been more of a father to that lil boy that his sperm donor could ever dream of being.

@mvest:  he was like that with the gf thing and the only reason he takes them on his weekend is because of her……they have been out of school for almost a month and he has yet to see them…its sad…but funny thing is we have a great relationship with the kids grandparents, they actually perfer us over him lol. but my FH is an amazing father to them and im so Happy we will officially be a family 🙂 even though we already are

Last summer I went to a wedding where the groom had a daughter from a previous marriage.  During the ceremony the bride & groom gave presented her with a necklace & the officiant talked about how she was part of their marriage.  It was so sweet.  Everyone cried.

Ladies, this is such a wonderful post and thread, I found myself tearing up as I was reading it- God Bless all of you and much love and happiness to you, your Fiance and children! <3  I am blessed with two gorgeous children, 14yr-old son, and beautiful 9yr-old daughter.  My Fiance has no children, and since we are a bit older, we have no plans on extending our families beyond my children.  My Fiance is wonderful with my kids, and they really like and have accepted him, so we’d also like to do something special for them. We are having Celtic elements, to honor our Irish ancestry (which is very, very important to me) in our ceremony, one of them being hand-fastening, and we thought it’d be awesome if the kids were the one to wrap the cord around us.  Also, my children are walking me down the aisle, together.  I love the ideas of of unity candles and gifts to the children!  I am fortunate in that I split custody with my ex, 50/50, so their dad is just as much a part of their lives as I am.
