@mrs_pudding_pop:  You are a stronger woman than I, we have nothing of theirs in our house. We were actually going through some old cards and I found one that she had given to him. It was all lovey and I just glared at him. I’m such a child about it but I hate to think about them together. He is really sweet about it though, he grabbed it from me and threw it in the trash.

I can’t be too upset his previous marriage though, I alway say that it was his practice run. He is a much better man because of it.

Our wedding is so unique that I have no fear of doing anything that will even remotely resemble anything done in his previous “cookie-cutter” wedding. First of all the attire is Victorian-inspired. The ceremony itself is a mix of Pagan and Native American. A quick little cake and punch “reception” afterwards followed by a huge pig roast the following day. There will be no grounds for comparision LOL

@Birdee106:  We have gotten into some heavy duty arguments over it, but he has agreed that we are going to get new dishes, a bed (actually that will be a wedding gift from my mom) and a couple of other things that are new to both of us once married.  I have some old stuff too I’ll be throwing out that I never shared with anyone but just want to start married life together with “our things”. He totally gets that.

He’s the practical “if it’s not broke, etc” type and I am the “that wretched woman touched it/slept in it GET RID OF IT NOW” type.  But due to money issues (as in, we’re busy paying off debts and saving for an awesome wedding) we’ve compromised.  He lets me break the occasional dish, I wow him more than she ever did in that old bed! 😉
