I’m in such a tizzy, I don’t even know what board to post this, DIY, reception, decor, money, family, emotional….geez louise. My problem impacts all of those! My venue told me today that my vendors and I have 3 hours before the reception to set up and decorate the room. I don’t really have any vendors except the DJ since I’m doing a lot of DIY. My bridal party is just one person. I’m having non floral centerpieces, Tolsby frames for table names/numbers, sandboxes for placecards, cupcake stand and cupcakes. The coordinator at the venue said that I could drop off everything the night before and they would set it up except for the cupcakes. I had also planned on getting the chair covers and sashes and setting them up myself to save money bu tthis doesn’t look possible.
Not sure how I feel about the venue setting up for me….Should I hire a day of coordinator to help with all of these logistics? There’s no way on earth I’m going to be able to do all of this myself. A DOC was not in the budget and neither was having a company come in and set up the chair covers.
It makes me so mad because I wasn’t this stressed out when planning the original wedding I wanted and because of FI’s mother we had to move everything here which is so much more expensive that what we originally had planned. They are not contributing a cent after they said “we’re not closing our business to go to your destination wedding so you should change your plans” and she’s still unhappy because ultimately she doesn’t want this wedding to happen.
