I’ve posted before about my dilemmas with choosing and liking a dress.
The dress I own…is not the one for my type of wedding..its beautiful…but not for the beach and for my personality. So despite the loss of money (on a tight budget) I went dress shopping with one of my bridesmaids tonight to see if I could find the right dress for me.
I only have 3 months so I have to go to department stores, and even in NYC…BCBG, Lord and Taylor and Macys had nothing!
Well at least nothing that fits a size 12-14 hips.
Any suggestions for a flowy, simple beach gown for a curvy girl. (i could fit an 8 except for in the hip and thigh area I’d need a 12-14 from what I saw this evening…holy hips lol)
I love the BCBG, Wtoo and maggie sottero destination type dresses.

Have you tried Alfred Angelo or David’s Bridal? Buying off the rack seems like your only option right now.

My original dress is from DB…I feel like I’ve tried every dress on there. 🙁
Can I buy an alfred angelo off the rack?

With 6 weeks to go before my wedding, I bought a new dress (a sample gown in pristine condition) from PreOwnedWeddingDresses.com. I don’t know if they will necessarily have something that you’re looking for, but it never hurts to check!

Alfred Angelo stores have always help out friends of mine in a pinch ie dress was shredded at the cleaners 1 wk before the wedding. Yes in an actual Alfred Angelo store they have dresses you can buy off the rack.

What about The Limited? Would anything from there work? There’s always coupons, so if you hunt around online, I bet you could get a decent deal.

Maybe you could check bridepower.com too?

What about the BCBG Timona? That was my beach wedding dress and i loved it! It’s an A-Line cut but looks more like Empire and i’m very sure it would work for wider hips
