So, our wedding is in 3 weeks!!! We were engaged for one year, so I have had a long time to plan, which I did. I have never been a last minute type of person, so I had all my ducks in a row long before now…but suddenly the family is starting to realise its almost the wedding and they are changing things, talking me into a panic and just generally running around like crazy people. This is exactly what I was trying to avoid, I basically wanted everything done so I could relax and watch it all come together without this franticness- ha ha ha, not happening.
Even the minister postponed our ceremony talk and I got mad at the minster, yes, bees, I actually got mad that he was going to visit a terminal person in hospital rather than having our meeting- at this point I realised I might be going TOTALLY nuts, because I am usually a very compassionate person and this is just plain selfish behaviour on my part. I am saying my prayers as we speak. Mind you, I was very nice to the minister, so don’t worry. But, conclusion …………..I really, truely need to relax….any tips???

@WillowH: Hi Willow! Im so sorry things have been so stressful! It seems that no matter how organized we may be…the last weeks before the wedding are always hectic.
Is there any way you can talk a half-day break? Do a spa treatment, or just take a long bath and watch dumb movies all day? Just to get away from it all and breathe?
Make sure you are sleeping as much as possible. Sleep deprivation can lead to self destruction!

I agree!! Try to take a bath… go for a spa day. Try your hardest to STOP thinking about the wedding for 20 mins. My wedding is in May, and Im an incredibly organized person, so I want it all together as well. However, I just KNOW that I will be going crazy when the time comes.
Go to a movie by yourself. Or tell people that you are at one place and go somewhere else!! lol

Thanks guys! I really thought I ‘would not be one of those brides’ freaking out, but let me tell ya, its happening 🙂 At least I am still momentarily able to focus on what’s important.
Being organized is sometimes really not the least stressful thing, especially if you’re seriously Type A personality Good News is, my bachelorettes and kitchen tea is coming up, either this weekend or the next and then I will be able to have a lot of fun.
That being said, I am soooo booking a massage for next week and buying candles- I love baths, they always seem to calm me- advice taken . Thank you and good luck with your own stress levels!!

- Wedding: October 2011 - Bed & Breakfast
Get out of the house. As nice as a hot bath sounds, if you are at home you are probably going to find yourself thinking about the craft supplies, how you really need to finish project X, and gosh dangit, why did the phone just ring?!?! So get away from all that stuff. Take a long walk, make girls night out plans with your friends, have a dinner date with your Fiance…. anything to get away from your phone, your to-do list, and your stress. It helps, and it’s worth it.
