@ALAWI:  Both dresses are beautiful, and I am sure you could pull off either one of them. Don’t contemplate your dress by your age, we’re only 30! Honestly wear whatever dress your little heart desires; this is your day!

Sorry, No pics either; wedding store didn’t allow the even after I put my deposit down on my fit & flare Maggie sottero.

When you close your eyes and picture your day, what words come to mind? Whimsical? Sophisticated? Comfy? etc. Then ask yourself which style of dress fits those words the best. That may help you narrow things down.

I was 31 when we got married, and I wanted to feel elegant and timeless, but in a modern way. For me that meant a full a-line dress. That style made me feel like a bride while still feeling like myself. Since I am an ample pear shape, a-line has always been my go-to dress cut. It’s what looks best on my body.

Hey, any chance to show off my dress 🙂 The pics here are not actually MY dress that’s hanging in my closet waiting to be altered (got it on sale as a sample). These are images of the same dress that someone was selling online.  The official photos from the designer (Blue by Enzoani, the dress is the Dijon) made it look terrible!  I’m not anywhere near curvy, but the model they use looks downright sickly and the dress look frumpy on her.

This dress is everything I thought I DIDN’T want – strapless, heavy, poufy, princess-y, and has a train.  But the consultant asked if I would try it on as a favor for her.  It was one of the shop’s favorites, but brides had been overlooking it.  It had only ever been tried on by one other bride-to-be.  But when I got it on, I didn’t want to take it off.  It was about the 4th or 5th dress I tried.  Tried on a few more after, then this one again and that was it, I was done! Bought it that day.  So I got an $1800 dress in perfect condition for $700.  Just need the top taken in, since as I mentioned before, the curve-fairy never did visit me.

I’m 33, turning 34 in April and thus is my dress. I wanted something that was a real wedding dress not an evening gown if that makes sense? Mine has tulle but is a fit and flare so I feel I get the best of both worlds between ball gown (which I know wouldn’t suit me) and mermaid. When I tried it on my heart skipped a beat and I got tears in my eyes so I know it was the one. How do you feel in the dresses you tried? I think that is the most important thing.

G’day girls.  I am 36 yrs old but am a US size 6 and look a little bit younger for my age (people guess me for about 31-32 yrs).

I have just ordered my wedding dress.  Ball gown wasn’t my style, but was going for the young- Liz Taylor elegant look with satin and French lace with this Nicolina design.
