*eta, just realized this thread was two years old, whoops!
My cousin had this dress. I loved it! Gorgeous!
I’ll be 32 this year. We’re still young! Wear what makes you feel good!
ETA: Here’s a pic of the back of my dress (no pics of the front…I was in a hurry and a hot mess that day!). I’m 31. Ignore the string going down the back, I was trying on a head piece!

Mine is still in progress but here are some pics from the second fitting. I’m 34. I didn’t really consider age when choosing my silhouette, but I did find myself preferring more classic elements like lace and matte buttons over sparkly and metallic details. Not to say they wouldn’t look great on a bride of any age. It was just my personal preference.

I am getting married next year and am going to be 34 and my fiance 45 🙂
I agree with everyone when they say- wear a dress you feel comfortable in and something you love 🙂
When i was younger i wanted the Princess style dress. As i grew older i preferred the ‘sleekness’ and fit of the mermaid gown. However, went i went to my first wedding dress store i promised i would try on every single style to see what they would look like.
I tried on 6 dresses and feel in love with 2! (and they were completely different styles and looks!)
This was the 3rd dress i tried on:

And this was the last dress i tried on in a whim 🙂
I FELL IN LOVE 🙂
I am losing the bow- yet this had a WOW factor and i loved the feather on the bodice! and to top it off- my favourite song from the 1920s was playing in the background (and that doesn’t happen very often) 🙂
So only 1 wedding dress store in and i bought this one 🙂
Have not regretted my decision 🙂 xox

You are not too old to wear either.
I’m 5’1. I went in to the bridal salon with one rule – NO. BALLGOWNS.
Guess what I ended up with. And it’s perfect. It fits me. It’s beautiful. And it’s exactly what I thought I didn’t want.
You will be beautiful in either one. Pick the one that when you put it on makes you feel like a princess. Mine was the only one where when I looked in the mirror I literally went, “Oh wow…” I immediately teared up. No other dress I tried on made me feel like that. If you love the way the fit and flare fits you and it makes you feel like a princess, wear it. You’ll be beautiful!
(I’d post a picture of mine but I can’t figure out how to add it from Photos Library on my mac…)

This dress is perfect for me and my body type. I’m very curvy (hourglass) with nice slim legs, I tried all the long dresses at the bridal store and thought they were all too heavy and added bulk and unnecessary fabric.
I’m having a ceremony at City Hall at the end of April so this dress will be fun and perfect for the occasion (I also love to dance so it will great for dancing). It’s a gorgeous dress from BHS in the UK. I will jazz it up with flowers in my hair and jewels. I might change the sash to match my wedding colour of royal purple/plum/violet but I’ll see how it looks first.

I agree, I had that same rule but then I went with a detachable train that is poufy and ballgown-y. So glad you went and gave it a try 🙂 And yes, your advice is spot on, go with the dress that you feel the best in!
