- Wedding: March 2013
Hi Bees! First, let me say that I am glad this whole process is over. I’ve been wanting to share the experience and photos with you since we’ve been back from our honeymoon, but getting over a cold (yes, I got it on my honeymoon!) and I’ve just been so tired. Our honeymoon in Hawaii was gorgeous and we loved every bit of it.
The actual day of went rather smoothly – including all of our timetables. I was so nervous about running late and panicking and I was strangly calm during it all and even helping other people get ready! It was all a bit surreal to be honest. My mom a few months ago was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, so that has been a major worry for me and my family in the past 3 months and then 3 weeks before the wedding, she fell and broke her ankle! It was a major break with surgery and all. With everything going on, I think it put things in perspecitive and I was glad she was there and feeling good and looked beautiful. So, everything was running smoothly and my nerves started as I was standing next to my soon to be husband and the ceremony started. I could tell her was nervous so that made me feel nervous! Then, during the ceremony, right before we exhanged rings, one of the groomsmen passed out!! He attempted to walk to a seat when he started to feel queasy and then collapsed. It was scary and shocking at the same time. It last for just a few minutes and as crazy as it might sound, everything sort of paused for those moments, we helped him out – loosened his collar and gave him some water. The ceremony continued as if someone hit play and it was over. Aside from that – everything else was good! Well, except my six yr ld niece who decided she had stage fright and rushed down the aisle only dropping one or or two petals LOL Oh, and I almost forgot – my heel getting stuck in my dress just as we were about the recessional! I had to wait before we started walking to have my heel unattached from the fabric in my train!! I think it may have gotten caught in the tulle. THANK GOD I didnt trip, I felt it pull and I was like ‘oh no!” LOL
The cocktail hour and reception were a lot of fun. It does go by very quickly. I was worried about out first dance which we totally did not practice so I wish that was better, but I suppose it was even more genuine this way….even though I felt like I was at a high school dance for the first minute or so.
Anyway, here are some “teaser” pics we just got back. 🙂
