ooooooooo…. it would be one thing if they put 3:00 pm on the invite but planned for 3:15…

but an hour???

@Sunnyday278:  Agreed.  It either seems like really poor planning or thinking really, really poorly of your guests.

I wanted to start right on time, but was pretty much talked into starting 5 minutes past the hour– I really hated it.  I can’t imaging forcing people to wait a full hour on top of when they showed up.

I went to a wedding like that once. It started an hour later than stated on the invitation and the service went on for at least 90 minutes. One of the bridesmaids fainted during the service as they had to stand on the dais for the entire time.

that is crazy.  it’s rude to expect your guests to sit for that extra hour waiting for the wedding to start.

If they put 3pm on the invitation and people are still showing up at 4pm, it looks like the bride and groom knew the type of people they were dealing with….
