We’ve been TTC for over 2 years now with no luck. This month I’ve started using OPK’s again and it’s been strange. Last week I got an almost positive, so I thought I would be ovulating in a few days, but the next few OPK’s were very negative with only the faintest line. Then on Monday this week I got a positve where the lines were equal, and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday they have increased in positivity to where today’s line was much stronger than the control. This has never happened to me before.
I don’t know what’s going on. I assume my body is trying to ovulate but can’t quite do it. I’ve also heard this can be a pregnancy indication so I took a test and got a BFN, though if I ovulated when I thought I would, I’d only be about 7 DPO. Anyone experienced this?? Thanks.

I bet your body geared up to ovulate when you had the almost positive but didn’t. I would assume that today would be your “peak” and you should ovulate within 24-48 hours. I’d test tomorrow too and see if the line starts fading out.

I used to get 4 days of positive OPKs. It does not mean your body is trying to ovulate, but cant, as OPKs cannot confirm ovulation. Just go by the FIRST positive OPK.
And if you want to confirm ovulation, try temping.

This happened to me when I first started using OPKs. I think I had five days of positives, but it never meant anything. I confirmed with temping, and I ovulated right after the first positive. Then I learned to stop testing after a positive and wasting unnecessary strips. Lol. Try not to worry too much about it. But I definitely recommend temping. It’s a great way to really know what’s going on with your body. Good luck!

Thanks. I did temping for a really long time but took a break for a while. After 2 years it really gets to you! I should pick it up again. I bought one of the new ear thermometers that basically does it for me so I have no excuse!
