Here is my .70 ct diamond in yellow gold with a 6 prong platinum setting. I had a similar  ring in a 4 prong in a . ct which I stupidly traded for a larger but crappy diamond (i got caught up in the size factor). after some soul searching, etc, I really decided I wanted a nice stone with good specs, regardless of the size. I like a 6 prong becasue the 4 prong makes a stone look a little cushion-y. While I appreciate cushions, I prefer a classic rouns. In the smaller .5 and under stones, I dont think it makes a different, but it did when I looked at this one.

I like the roundness of a 6-prong but overall prefer how the 4-prong showcases a smaller stone. I don’t think mine looks squared-off by it.

4 prong and the main stone is. 74. I do think it looks less round than 6 prongs. The bonus is I love seeing the stone from the side with out a lot of metal.

Sorry if if this is massive, am in the iPad and it won’t let me resize. This is my 0.9 carat 6 prong. I personally prefer the 6 prong look. Missing the ring as it’s as the jewellers so they can sort out the annoying misaligned prong!
